1 Who I am

This website is operated by Nick Barrett, trading as NeoBookworm.uk, based in Swindon, UK.

For any privacy-related queries, please use the contact form.

2 What data I collect

When conducting outreach to businesses, I collect only the following information — sourced exclusively from publicly available business listings, specifically Facebook business pages and Google Maps listings:

I do not collect personal names, postal addresses, or any sensitive personal data. I do not use cookies, analytics trackers, or any form of website tracking on this page.

3 Why I contact you

Our outreach is conducted on the following lawful bases under UK data protection law:

For confirmed limited companies, I may send an initial email and a small number of follow-up emails if there has been no response. I will never contact any business again once an opt-out request has been received.

Important: I never send cold marketing emails to sole traders or non-limited partnerships. These are treated as individual subscribers under PECR and require prior consent. Sole traders may receive a physical letter by post only.

4 How to opt out

You can opt out at any time using either method below:

  • Reply to my email with the word "unsubscribe"
  • Use the contact form and ask to be removed

I will remove your details from my records immediately and will not contact you again. I retain only a minimal suppression record (the email address alone) to ensure I do not inadvertently re-contact you in future.

5 Data sharing

I do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose any business contact information to third parties under any circumstances. Your data is held solely by NeoBookworm.uk and used only for the outreach described above.

6 Data retention

Full contact records are retained for up to 12 months from the date of last contact. After that period, all personal data fields are deleted. I retain only a minimal suppression record (business name, contact status, and date of first contact) indefinitely — solely to ensure I do not inadvertently re-contact a business that has previously opted out or been closed.

7 Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form.

8 Changes to this policy

If I make material changes to this policy, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. I recommend checking back periodically if you have an ongoing interest in how I handle data.
